The Times-Union is closing all blogs to new posts, explaining that staff resources can no longer be devoted to dealing with the problems some blogs caused.
Newspapers like the T-U perform a vital role in our democratic society. They’re under tremendous economic pressures. I hate to think what America will be like without such newspapers holding folks to account. (Just as Trump wanted.) Hosting blogs is at best peripheral to their mission.
